About this Program

This linked degree program makes it possible for exceptional philosophy majors to take up to 12 hours of graduate courses while completing their undergraduate degree and to gain a head start on a graduate degree. The Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy is designed to give students a solid grounding in the historical development of philosophy, and an ability to analyze arguments proposed in serious discussions of any subject. The Master of Arts in humanities promotes interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on critical theory and cultural studies.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Philosophy & Humanities at Â鶹¹ú²úAV?
Students entering the Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's of Art Program program in Philosophy & Humanities should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.
  • To be admitted to the linked B.A.-M.A. program, students must declare a major in Philosophy and Religious Studies and complete a minimum of at least 60 undergraduate credit hours, including at least six hours of 300/400 level courses in the major. 

  • At the time of admission to the linked program, students must have an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or better.

  • Students must earn a minimum of 150 credit hours (120 discrete credit hours for the undergraduate degree and 30 discrete credit hours for the graduate degree).
