The Center provides a dynamic and collegial environment for graduate training. Our faculty are currently members of the following graduate programs:
Explore the dynamic field of biomedical sciences in this cutting-edge interdisciplinary doctoral program. Core coursework integrated with seminars and laboratory rotations expose students to the breadth of biomedical inquiry prior to pursuing advanced research concentrations.
This program prepares students in the application of chemical principles to address many of society's technical, environmental, and biomedical problems. Students will be able to provide leadership in industrial, governmental, and educational institutions in directing research and/or development to solve these problems.
The Biomedical Engineering PhD Program emphasizes the highest quality engineering education, scholarly research at the forefront of biomedical engineering, and service to the biomedical engineering profession. Completion of a minimum of 48 hours of graduate credits to include: a minimum of 24 credits of course work beyond the master鈥檚 degree and a minimum of 24 credits of dissertation research.
The PhD degree is awarded to candidates who have displayed an in-depth understanding of the subject matter and demonstrated the ability to make an original contribution to knowledge in their chosen field of specialty. For the PhD degree students must take eight courses beyond their Master degree, five of which must be at the doctoral 800 level.
Schoenbach Fellowship
Established in 2018 the Karl H. & Gisela M. Schoenbach Fellowship endowment provides fellowships for graduate students pursuing a graduate research program in bioelectrics at the Center.
